Bake Sale Idea: These little cakes &
breads can be made in small loaf pans. Wrap each
loaf in plastic wrap and tie with ribbon.
Poppy
Seed Cake 1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1 Pkg. intsant coconut pudding
4 eggs
1 C. hot water
1/2 C. cooking oil
1/2 C. poppy seed
Blend ingrediants together for 4 minutes.
Put batter in greased and floured loaf pans.
Bake 350 degrees.
Large pan = 40-45 minutes
Small pan = 30 minutes (4 small pans)
Wine Bread
(makes 8 loafs)
4 C. flour
1 C. butter
1 T. sugar
1 tsp. salt
Cut butter into the above ingrediants like you would for a
pie crust.
Step 1 to Prepare
Dissolve 1 pkg. yeast in 1/4 c. warm water.
1 Cup of milk scalled & cooled.
4 egg yolk beaten
Loaves:
Mix liquid into flour.
Knead well for about 5 minutes. Put in fridge 1 hour or
overnight.
Divide into 8 sections.
Roll loaves to 1/4 inch thick.
Size should be approximately 6X8 inches.
Filling:
Use 1/2 Cup filling per loaf.
Spread canned filling on left 2/3 of top
Bake:
Place on greased cookie sheet.
350 degrees for 30 minutes
Frost with powered sugar or cream cheese frosting.
Top with coconut or nuts.
Lemon Cake with Lemon
Glaze Prepare lemon cake mix according to
box directions.
Bake in small loaf pans.
Cool.
Lemon glaze:
1 C. powdered sugar
1 T. + 1 tsp. lemon juice.
1 tsp. cooking oil.
Mix together. Spoon over cakes. Let set to
dry.
